About the design
DAZZ Ring — Marquise
One marquise leans into the center stone from each side, across the width of the band — the house setting, the DAZZ signature.
The center diamond, between two marquises across the band, 0.4 ct together — lab-grown or natural, your choice — comes with an international gemological certificate: IGI for a lab-grown diamond, GIA for a natural one. The ring is made to order, in 14K gold — white, yellow or rose.
The cut in this design
The Marquise in the DAZZ Ring
The marquise is long and pointed at both ends, the most elongated of the cuts, and it draws the most dramatic line on the finger. Its weight is spread along its length more than any other cut, and a carat of marquise looks especially large. The ratio the house chooses is 2 to 2.25. The two points are its sensitive spots, and they are checked first. Intact, and in line with each other.
In the DAZZ Ring two smaller marquises lean toward the center marquise, one on each side, across the band. Three marquises in one line, and the long line of the center stone continues through the two smaller ones. The setting here differs from the rest of the collection. Instead of claws, four flat, triangular prongs along the sides of the stone fold over it like tabs, on a tapered head. The smaller marquises are V-set, held at their two points only, with their sides open.
- Who is the marquise right for?
- Anyone who wants length and presence. The marquise lengthens every finger, and is striking on short or wide fingers.
- What do you check on a marquise before approving it?
- A ratio of 2 to 2.25, as little bow-tie as possible, and enough depth that it does not look flat. You see the stone before it is made.
- Why three marquises?
- Because three marquises in a line are the longest line a ring can draw on the finger. The smaller ones continue the large one, point to point. It is the house's setting.
